Chief Resident Leadership Conference:
The role of the Chief Resident is changing rapidly. From enforcing new accreditation requirements and coaching junior colleagues' performance to monitoring the well-being of themselves and their fellow physicians, chief residents are being asked to assume a leadership position that requires the use of new competencies, skills and behaviors. To address this need, SCS created an innovative Chief Resident Leadership Skills Workshop designed for upcoming chief residents in 2020-2021 academic year. This interactive, full-day workshop will provide participants with an in-depth look at the roles and responsibilities of a chief resident practical ways to manage stress, and tips for teaching and giving feedback using critical leadership skills.
Human Trafficking & Sexual Victimization:
Conference attendees will learn about the unique challenges physicians face in identifying and treating people at risk for human trafficking. Participants will hear from several experts about how to recognize signs and symptoms of victims seeking care that are likely involved in trafficking, and what a physician's reporting responsibilities and legal obligations are in suspected cases of sex trafficking.
Physician/Faculty Wellness and Resiliency:
This one-day mindfulness and resiliency educational day have been designed Core Faculty. This program will include topics such as overcoming adversity, burnout to brilliance, suicide prevention, coaching to wellness. We will also have an afternoon workshop dedicated to Coaching, Mindfulness and Resiliency which will equip you with tools and tips on how to practice and incorporate mindfulness into your daily routine. In this experiential workshop, you will engage in practical exercises, get personalized coaching and feedback from the instructors, and discuss strategies for applying the skills.
