Awards to be presented on May 20, 2020 at the Annual SCS Membership Meeting Attendance. Attendance is necessary to receive the award.
MSUCOM SCS Scholarly Activity Award
The MSUCOM SCS Scholarly Activity Award is given to a graduating
resident in a Statewide Campus System affiliated residency program. Recipients will be selected based on, but
not necessarily limited to the following:
Embodiment of the highest ethical and moral ideal of professionalism
Presentations of scholarly work at regional and/or national meetings
Publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals
Outstanding contributions to the training of medical students and junior residents
Required nomination materials include completion of the nomination form, one letter of support, and synopsis of
resident research or scholarly activity. Selections from nominations are made by Bill Corser, Ph.D., RN, Jonathan
Rohrer, Ph.D., D.Min., and Sam Wisniewski, MS.
MSUCOM SCS Opipari Leadership Award
The MSUCOM SCS Opipari Leadership Award is given in recognition of exceptional service
to the MSUCOM/Statewide Campus System. Member institutions are asked to nominate leaders that exemplify
volunteer service, administration, research, teaching, scholarship, and mentorship. Criteria used by the selection
committee in choosing the award recipient include:
Period of time in service to SCS
Amount of time committed to SCS
Levels of responsibility/leadership
Positive impact on SCS
Selections are made from nominations sent to the SCS Governing Board.
MSUCOM SCS Medical Education Staff Award
The MSUCOM SCS Medical Education Staff Award is given to a program coordinator in a Statewide Campus System
affiliated residency program. Criteria used by the selection committee includes:
In-depth understanding of the accreditation process
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Projects to improve residency programs
Selections are made from nominations sent to the SCS Governing Board.
