Munson Medical Center is the key hospital in a health care system that serves as the primary regional referral center for Michigan's northern lower peninsula. Munson Medical Center has earned national recognition as one of the 100 top-performing hospitals in the country. In the year 2000, Munson Medical Center was the sole recipient of the National Quality Health Care Award. Munson Medical Center's family medicine program is structured to train physicians for rural and small-town practice. The didactic program encompasses lectures, case conferences and workshops, stresses primary care topics and includes behavioral science training.
