Residency Matching

The Match process is an important step in your transition from medical school to medical practice.  As an osteopathic graduate you have access to both AOA- and ACGME-sponsored postdoctoral training positions.  Therefore you could potentially participate in two separate match systems during your fourth year of medical school. (AOA match program = National Matching Services, Inc., or NatMatch) (ACGME match program = National Resident Matching Program, or NRMP)

You will likely have many training options available to choose from, and it is important to give considerable attention to your strategy for ranking programs during the Match.  This will ensure you have the best chance of matching to your first choice program and specialty.
