Highlights
Established in 1944 by local osteopathic physicians, McLaren - Macomb has been a leader in osteopathic graduate medical education throughout its history. With a wide variety of internship and residency training programs, we recognize that excellent postdoctoral training must provide a balance of patient care and structured learning opportunities. We believe that we achieve this goal by offering hands-on clinical experience, formal didactics, a supportive environment and attractive, state-of-the-art facilities. Externs, interns and residents play a key role at McLaren - Macomb, providing direct care to our patients under the supervision of attending physicians. Our patient population continues to grow in volume and diversity, and provides a wide range of pathology.
Educational programs include daily lectures and conferences; monthly grand rounds; and journal clubs. Based on feedback from prior externs, workshops and programs uniquely designed to meet the medical students needs are incorporated. Externs also participate in weekly Extern Grand Rounds and PCAC Didactic Days, and enjoy full access to the Medical Library, including computer-assisted learning.
