Highlights

Lakeland HealthCare, located in southwest Michigan is a community hospital system providing services to approximately 200,000 residents and is Berrien County's largest employer with over 3,000 associates. We maintain a medical staff of over 280 physicians who are board certified or board eligible.

Lakeland HealthCare is a financially strong health system with the goal of providing the highest quality healthcare possible. Our organization continually strives to improve our facilities and equipment. Recent improvements include:

  • A brand new 4 story inpatient addition in Saint Joseph with 96 private rooms and 22 census adaptable rooms. Each room is designed for the comfort of patient and visitors with a designated area in the room for visitors complete with furnishings and television.
  • A recently expanded and remodeled emergency center with 40 treatment rooms, and an electronic whiteboard system designed to offer continuous monitoring of patient location and status.
  • A newly redesigned surgery pre-op department including individual private rooms for each patient.
  • Technological innovations including the daVinci Surgical System, Neuronavigation system, Computer-assisted orthopedic surgery, Image Guided Radiation Therapy, 64-slice CT scanners and Breast MRI
  • Service lines include: oncology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, cardiac surgery, bariatric surgery, hand surgery, plastic surgery, radiation oncology, rehabilitation services, obstetrics, cardiology and behavioral medicine.

    • Lakeland also operates a state of the art outpatient center complete with surgery, imaging and laboratory services.
    I am currently doing an elective ER rotation at Lakeland and it is fantastic. The doctors, nurses, and techs have all taken an active and enthusiastic roll in my education.
