Highlights

Community Health Center of Branch County is in a small city in a rural area, which allows us to develop programs of one-on-one training. Rotations are arranged so that crowding is eliminated and training occurs at the attending-student level. Rotations are designed to allow for office-based exposure on all services, including surgery, medicine and obstetrics. H&Ps are assigned only for those patients the student will be following. There are no ward services or night block call, which allow more free time for house staff.

Although we are located in a rural community and are a small community hospital, we have a wide variety of pathology. Our service area exceeds 45,000. We have an active osteopathic practice program and utilize OMM in the hospital and clinic. We have a strong ongoing didactic program in osteopathic practice. Our programs are learner friendly and we offer a safe and comfortable environment in which to learn.

Residents at the Community Health Center of Branch County attend weekly journal clubs and bi-monthly family medicine text review. Ambulatory medicine and osteopathic practice and principles seminars are strong components of the educational program. A wide variety of pathology and hands-on opportunities complement the didactic program.
