Highlights

Each year more than 140 residents and interns train in one of Botsford's many specialties. While we have very strong hospital-based training, students, interns and residents spend part of every rotation in an ambulatory training site. Combining both hospital and community-based experiences into every rotation provides a more accurate picture of the discipline and of the continuity of care necessary to meet the needs of the patients we serve.

While Botsford is a community hospital, we function more like a tertiary care center. Our Emergency Department does over 62,000 visits a year with almost 60% of the admissions coming through the ED. These patients are acutely ill and represent an extremely broad spectrum of pathology. The volume and diversity of pathology make us a unique training site. In addition, the hospital is actively involved in research. Some of the studies under way are unique to our institution; others are multi-center trial studies. The hospital provides research assistance and guidance along the way for those interested in conducting research.

Highlights include strong academics, state-of-the-art Wellness Center, on-campus day care, reports, lectures, journal clubs and computer-assisted learning.
